Step 1: Prepare the seafood
Pat the lobster pieces and scallops very dry with paper towels. Removing excess moisture helps the scallops develop a beautiful golden crust.
Season both the lobster and scallops with salt, black pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning.
Step 2: Sear the scallops
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Once the pan is hot, place the scallops in a single layer, leaving space between them. Cook for about 2–3 minutes on the first side, without moving them, until deeply golden.
Flip and cook for another 1–2 minutes, then transfer the scallops to a plate.
Step 3: Cook the lobster
Reduce the heat to medium. Add 1 tablespoon of butter to the same skillet.
Add the lobster pieces and cook for approximately 2–3 minutes per side, depending on their size, until the meat is opaque and cooked through. Transfer them to the plate with the scallops.
Step 4: Make the garlic butter
Add the remaining butter to the skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic.
Cook for about 30–60 seconds, stirring constantly, until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
Add the lemon juice and stir everything together.
Step 5: Combine everything
Return the cooked lobster and scallops to the skillet. Spoon the garlic butter over the seafood and let everything cook together for about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
Step 6: Garnish and serve
Turn off the heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve immediately with lemon wedges and plenty of the garlic butter from the pan.
Serving Ideas
Serve this garlic butter lobster and scallops with steamed vegetables, roasted potatoes, rice, pasta, or crusty bread for soaking up the delicious butter sauce.
Tip: The key to beautifully browned scallops is making sure they are very dry and placing them in a properly heated pan. Avoid overcrowding the skillet so they can develop a golden crust.
